DIY: Whipped Night Cream
Recipe type: Lotion
Prep time:

Total time:
Makes about 1 Cup of Lotion
  • ½ Cup Shea Butter
  • 3 Tablespoons Almond Oil
  • 3 Tablespoons Coconut Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Beeswax
  • 2 drops Vitamin E Oil
  • 12 drops of Frankincense Essential Oil
  • 12 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
  • 8 drops of Lemon Essential Oil
  • 5 drops of Tea Tree (Melaleuca Alternifolia) Essential Oil
  1. Use a double boiler to melt the Shea Butter, Almond Oil, Coconut Oil and Beeswax until combined.
  2. Take the combined mixture off of the heat and store it in the refrigerator for 30 mins to cool, but not solidify.
  3. Once the oils have chilled but not solidifed, add the essential oils and Vitamin E oil to the base.
  4. Whip the mixture for 5 minutes on medium speed with an electric mixer (or if you want a workout... by hand). If the lotion doesn't hold it's shape once whipped, it isn't cold enough.
  5. Stop mixing once the lotion is white and fluffy.
  6. Store in a cosmetic-grade container.
